How to improve your aim

Keep your eyes on the center of the arena so new targets enter your peripheral vision. Use small wrist movements instead of sweeping your whole arm, and slow down slightly on hard mode — misses hurt more than a few saved milliseconds help.

What the aim score actually measures

Three skills combine in every run: visual search (finding the new target), hand-eye coordination (moving the cursor to it) and click timing (firing without overshooting). The average reaction figure reflects mostly the first two, while accuracy reflects trigger discipline. Gamers train these separately — wide mouse sweeps for search speed, small targets for precision — which is why easy mode builds speed and hard mode builds control. Alternate between the two difficulties across sessions instead of grinding one.

Aim training drills

  1. Warm up on easy for one run before touching medium or hard.
  2. Lower your mouse sensitivity slightly if you constantly overshoot small targets.
  3. Focus on smooth paths, not jerky flicks — speed comes after precision.
  4. Take a short break between runs; tired hands aim worse and learn slower.
  5. Compare targets-per-minute week to week, not run to run — daily noise is large.

FAQ

Aim trainer FAQ

How does the aim trainer score work?

Every target you hit counts. Missing (clicking empty space) lowers your accuracy. Average reaction is the mean time from spawn to hit.

What changes with difficulty?

Easy targets are large (76px), medium are 56px and hard are 36px and spawn across more of the arena.

How long does a run last?

Each run lasts exactly 30 seconds, timed with performance.now(). Targets per minute is your hits scaled to a full minute.

Should I train on easy or hard?

Both, alternating. Easy builds raw clicking speed; hard builds precision and trigger discipline. Most improvement comes from mixing them.

Does mouse sensitivity (DPI) matter?

Yes. Very high sensitivity causes overshooting on small targets; very low sensitivity slows large movements. Use whatever you use daily — consistency beats any "best" setting.
