Clicking techniques that raise CPS

Regular clicking uses one finger and lands most people at 4–6 CPS. Three known techniques go faster: jitter clicking (tensing the forearm for vibration-speed clicks), butterfly clicking (two fingers alternating on the button) and drag clicking (dragging a finger across the button to register friction bounces). Butterfly clicking can double a regular score, which is why this CPS counter also reports your peak one-second burst separately from your average.

How the CPS counter works

Every click inside the box counts while the high-resolution timer runs. CPS equals total clicks divided by seconds, and peak CPS is the most clicks inside any rolling one-second window. Results vary with your device, mouse switches and browser latency — compare scores on the same setup.

FAQ

CPS FAQ

What is CPS?

CPS stands for clicks per second — your total clicks divided by the test duration. It is the standard way to compare clicking speed.

What is a good CPS?

Regular clicking gives 4–6 CPS, fast clicking 7–9 CPS, and anything above 10 CPS sustained is outstanding.

CPS test vs click speed test?

They measure the same skill. This page tracks your CPS record separately so you can compare both leaderboards in your history.

What clicking technique gives the highest CPS?

Drag clicking records the highest bursts, followed by butterfly clicking. Both need practice and a suitable mouse — and some servers ban them, so check game rules first.

How do I read the peak CPS number?

Peak CPS is your best single second inside the run. A big gap between peak and average means you started fast and faded — pacing work will raise your average.
